Laser Hair Removal

Q1. How does the SplashLaser remove hair?

The SplashLaser works by emitting a beam of light that penetrates through the upper layers of the skin to the hair in the hair follicle. The laser is calibrated to target the pigment (melanin) in the growing hair. The light energy is converted into heat and destroys the hair follicle with little or no effect on the surrounding tissue.

Q2. What makes the SplashLaser better than others?

The SplashLaser is specifically designed to remove unwanted hair faster, with less discomfort and more reliability than other methods. Scientific tests consistently prove the SplashLaser is at least twice as effective as light pulse treatments, IPL+ and SPL+.

Q3. If SplashLaser is better, will it cost more?

No, in fact you can expect better value. One of the benefits of the greater effectiveness of the SplashLaser is you will need less visits to remove unwanted hair than with other techniques. Less treatments for great results mean you will save with SplashClinic.

Q4. Does the SplashLaser work on different skin colours?

This advanced system safely and effectively treats most skin types.

Q5. Are there risks?

The SplashLaser is non-ionizing so it won't cause cancer or otherwise damage your skin. This has been proven in rigorous scientific tests. SplashClinic consultants are registered nurses, so rest assured you will only receive the best treatment and expert care. Our consultants have undergone university training and Laser Safety Officer accreditation to ensure the best results possible.

Q6. How many treatments will I need?

The amount of treatments required will vary from person to person and also the treatment area. For most people an average six sessions are required to permanently reduce hair. Remember, SplashClinic will deliver visible results quicker than other SPL or IPL treatments.

Q7. How long is each treatment?

The treatment time varies from client to client. As an example an underarm treatment may take as little as 15 minutes. Your registered nurse will advise you on the length of time required for the treatment during your consultation.

Q8. Are the results permanent?

Yes. Unlike many other techniques, scientific data has concluded the treatment using the SplashLaser technology results in a permanent reduction of hair.

Q9. What should I expect after SplashLaser hair removal?

The treatment area may become pink and feel mildly sunburnt. This reaction subsides within a day or so. Three to ten days after treatment hairs will begin to surface. Most of these hairs were treated and are falling out – it is not re-growth. Our consultants have the experience to ascertain what’s right for you. If you are unsure come and see us. Vein Removal

Q12. What will it be like?

As the SplashLaser energy is delivered along the length of the problem vessels, you may experience a feeling of heat or “prickling”. After the first treatment the veins will change colour, or may become more blurred.

Q13. Is there any recovery?

Immediately following treatment the skin may show some redness. There will be some bruising around the treated area initially which disappears within a week. A brown pigment may persist in the skin for a few weeks. It’s best to avoid vigorous exercise and heat (hot tubs and saunas) for the first 24 hours.

Q14. How does it work?

The SplashLaser emits a very specific wave length (colour) of light that is absorbed by the red blood cells. This causes the blood vessels to collapse, then the body’s own repair system removes the damaged vessel.

Q15. What conditions will this treatment help?

Spider veins, leg veins, cherry angioma, facial telangiectasia (dilated superficial blood vessels).

Q16. How long is each treatment?

Usually only 15-30 minutes.

Derma Fillers

Q17. What does SplashDerma treatment involve?

A non-surgical treatment, our advanced derma filler is injected into selected facial muscles by qualified registered nurses using a very fine needle. The treatment takes around 10 minutes. Discomfort is typically minimal, the injection may sting for a few seconds. No anaesthetic is usually required. It takes two to three days for the treatment to begin taking affect and about 7 days to see the full effect. Our registered nurses can explain in detail what to expect.

Q18. How long will the effect last?

The effect can last for up to 4 months before lines slowly begin to return. Repeat treatments mean the look tends to last longer.

Q19. Do Derma Fillers cause more wrinkles to form?

SplashDerma relaxes the facial muscles which cause expression lines. They do not cause more wrinkles, even after the effects have passed. If you do not have further treatments your muscles will eventually return to normal levels of activity and your wrinkles will gradually revert to their pre-treatment levels.

Q20. Will facial expression be affected?

SplashDerma only works on the targeted muscles so that any areas left untreated won’t be affected. Our registered nurses will determine the best treatment for you in order to achieve the best results.

Q21. I like the idea of a face lift without surgery. What now?

SplashDerma is a prescription only treatment, so there is a medical assessment with our doctor for a $100 fee. This will be refunded if you proceed with treatment. As a guide prices range from $375 to $600 per area. Book a consultation with the doctor now.
